Framingham woman adds armed robbery to rap sheet

NEWTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – the Framingham woman who was arrested for allegedly snatching purses at Symphony Hall is once again in police custody after she attempted to rob a gas station in Newton on Monday afternoon.

Chelsea Ingalls, 27, was arrested Monday by Framingham Police after she allegedly attempted to rob the Newtonville Sunoco gas station on Washington Street at knife-point around 3:15 p.m. She is facing one count of Armed Assault with Intent to rob, as well as possession of heroin.

According to the victim, a white female described as 5’6” tall with black hair and wearing dark clothing, sunglasses, and a hat came into the gas station asking the attendant to make change for her.

When the victim went to make change, the female suspect pulled out a large knife and demanded money. the victim then shoved the suspect backwards and the suspect fled the station heading westbound on Washington Street.

The victim saw the suspect enter a red SUV-type vehicle and obtained the registration plate of that vehicle which was traced back to Ingalls.

Officers alerted area authorities to be on the look out for a vehicle of that description, and by 5 p.m. Framingham Police had arrested Ingalls. Police also suspect Ingalls in a Christmas day robbery in Wellesley.

Ingalls was released on personal recognizance after she allegedly stole two purses from two women attending the Boston Pops Concert at Symphony Hall on Dec. 18. Ingalls will be arraigned Tuesday morning in Framingham District Court on attempted armed robbery charges in Newton, robbery charges in Wellesley, attempted robbery charges in Framingham, and possesion of heroin charges.
